VISION

To provide a space of Solitude, Silence and Simplicity for the Seeker in the Contemplative Tradition of the Church.

RATIONALE

 The globalized world, while providing much good to humanity, also has brought a frenetic pace and inhuman complexity that has brought many people to physical exhaustion and mental despair.

So that, places and communities of Faith that offer Silence, Solitude, Simplicity and Spiritual Direction are very much needed for sanity and transformation.

MISSION

To provide a “Desert Atmosphere”, that is a place free of distractions and noise to enable the guest to detach from the regular ‘noise’ of everyday life to Rest in the Lord Body, mind and spirit.

Goals

1. To build dwellings that are conducive to providing an atmosphere of silence, simplicity and solitude.

2. To landscape the grounds with gardens, trees, water, flowers and grass which give our guests healing in the silence, simplicity and solitude of  nature.

3. To provide Spiritual Direction given by trained Directors in the Christian tradition.

4. To build and live in an ecologically friendly way that will be a model for the poor so we/they can meet the challenge of Climate Change.

5. To provide contemplative hospitality for any guests that come to us. 

6. To create a Core Community which would live and work together holding the Silence, Solitude and Simplicity for our guests.

7. To have an outreach to the poor that flows from the Core Community’s contemplative life i.e. hospice.

8. To Practice a regular rhythm of Contemplative Prayer that focuses on Silence, Solitude and Simplicity.

9. To create, foster and maintain a holistic life-style that is attentive to the entire person: Body Mind Spirit.
