Fr. Jim Eble is a Maryknoll Priest with 30 yrs experience in Tanzania. He has had a rich and diverse experience of Africa during these years.
He has lived and worked in different settings such as the Rift Valley living in a tent learning the language of pastoral people who kept to traditional ways; he has also lived in the Serengeti Plains where he worked in a rural parish of the poor forming Christian communities.
Fr. Jim has also participated in a Clinical Pastoral Education program in Kiswahili with Tanzanians for two years. After leaving the program he formed relationships with the people in a slum in which they built a thriving parish in the midst of much urban poverty.
During these 30 plus years, he realized the need for a deeper spiritual practice that would be helpful for the Africans to renew their own spiritual roots and that would assist them face the many challenges of globalization in a constantly changing world.
